I think admitting to the fact that I can listen to their pop hits with some warm and fuzzy feelings nowadays was my first "guilty pleasure" admission here at the Forum some yrs back...I'll never forget my two older brothers remarking at the time (ie, 06 or so), they'd NEVER forgive me for that--it was simply going too far in their view.

Love the contrast in comments provided by the band they were spawned to imitate: Lennon, when asked by one of them (Monkee) if he thought they were poor imitations of the Beatles, replied "I think you are the best comedy act around next to the Marx Brothers...I never miss a show", whereas Harrison was much more sympathetic, saying "maybe they could be better than us if not so completely micro-mamaged by the suits in LA" or some such...
